*Tourists are now able to obtain visa up to 180 days at a stretch on-line and at the Embassy for USD 35 (same fee as the 30 day visa)

Tourists traveling to Sri Lanka are required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). ETA can be obtained:

• On-line
• On arrival in Sri Lanka
• At the Embassy

Note: ETA can be issued only for owners of passports with a validity period exceeding 06 months. If the validity of the passport is less than 06 months, the tourist must obtain a new foreign passport in advance.

1. Obtaining visa on-line

• Visa can be obtained on-line at: www.eta.gov.lk
• Payment of USD 35 by card for 30 day (double entry)/180 day visa (double entry is possible within the first 30 days from the first date of arrival to Sri Lanka. If the tourist leaves the country after 30 days of stay, the ETA obtained for 180 days will be cancelled).
