Sri Lanka's Non-aligned, omni-directional external relations outreach was symbolized by the presence of the Ambassadors of China, USA, Cuba, Venezuela, the Vatican and the DPRK in addition to top officials from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the diplomatic reception held on the occasion of the 71st Anniversary of the National day of Sri Lanka.

The reception was attended by 100 guests, among whom were Ambassadors of the USA, China, Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, the Vatican, Lebanon, Vietnam, Philippines, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Uruguay, Grenada, Brunei, DPRK, Nepal as well as Deputy Heads of Missions of India, Japan, Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Nigeria, Egypt, El Salvador, Indonesia and Tanzania.
