Documents issued by Sri Lankan Authorities:
Certificates/Documents issued by Sri Lankan authorities can be attested by the Embassy
Requirements:

- • The original and a photocopy of the certificate/document concerned
- • Original Passport
- • If the applicant is not submitting the documents in person, a letter of authorization for the applicant’s representative to hand over the documents for attestation
- • Visa Fee
- The attested document can be returned the same day in case if the document/certificate is already authenticated by the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo, Sri Lanka
- The attested document can be returned after 03 working days if the document is not authenticated by the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
- Please note that the Embassy can only attest documents which have been issued after 01 January 2008 by Sri Lankan authorities. In case if a document has been issued prior to 01 January 2008, a certified original of the same should be obtained from the document issuing authority for attestation.
- With regard to birth, marriage and death certificates, the Embassy can accept original certificate issued by the District Registrar or a certified true copy issued by the district registrar which is obtained from the Data Base or Official Registry after the Birth, Marriage or Death registered at the office of the District Registrar.
Documents issued by Foreign Authorities:
Certificates/Documents issued by authorities in the accredited countries of this Mission (Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan) should be authenticated by the respective Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the document issuance country, prior to submission to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Russia for authentication/attestation.

Attestation of Power of Attorneys issued in countries of accreditation:
- In case a national of the accredited countries of this Mission (Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan) requires the attestation of a Power of Attorney to be used in Sri Lanka, the Embassy can attest the Power of Attorney provided that it is attested by the respective Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
