Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia Prof. M.D. Lamawansa accompanied by the Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow Mr. Mohamed Anas paid a visit to Moscow Metropolitan Governance Yury Luzhkov University.

 

The University is among the top capital's Universities to teach/training professionals on management which includes city management, and administration. It provides practice-oriented training in public administration with state-of-the-art management techniques to ensure successful development of public sector. The visit to the University was recommended by the Ministers of the Moscow City Government during a meeting the Ambassador had earlier this year.

The guests were received by the Rector of the University Prof. V. Fiveysky, Vice Rector of the University for Academic Affairs and Research A. Alexandrov and a representative of the International Cooperation Department A. Ivanov.
Ambassador Prof. M.D. Lamawansa delivered a presentation on the education system in Sri Lanka, emphasizing areas and disciplines in which Sri Lankan Universities expressed interest for international collaboration.
Rector Prof. Fiveysky spoke about the strong expertise and creative potential of the University; study tours for city's civil servants and joint projects with foreign partners.
The Embassy delegation and the University administration identified the potential areas for mutual cooperation in the format of online interaction, participation in the international conferences and exchange of the best practices and firsthand experience of public administration.
The Ambassador was invited to deliver a lecture to the students of the University, and publish an article in the University Journal.
