More than 430 students and academicians of the Moscow Governance Yury Luzhkov University joined the online lecture of Prof. M. D. Lamawansa, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, through Zoom, Vkontakte, Youtube and Facebook. The lecture was opened by Mr. Vasily Fiveysky, Rector of the Moscow Governance University.

Prof. M. D. Lamawansa spoke on the topic of Public Service in Sri Lanka: its Past, Present and Future. His Excellency briefed the audience on the evolution of the public service in Sri Lanka, which was influenced by three colonizing countries and the Monarchial sytem, current global reforms and some innovations. He further explained which reforms have helped Sri Lanka, described the current state system and the ways the Government through the public service faces such challenges as terrorist attacks, natural disasters and pandemic.
The Moscow Governance Yury Luzhkov University, which specializes in training, advanced training and retraining of the city management and municipal authorities, invited His Excellency to present a speech after a visit of the Embassy delegation to the University in November 2020.
The lecture was delivered to the students of the Foreign Relation Faculty, other students and staff members of the University in the framework of the Open Lectures project, in which eminent persons of the public sector, specialists, experts and heads of the companies share their knowledge on management, economy and social matters.
