Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation Prof. M.D. Lamawansa presented copies of his letters of credence to the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mukhtar B. Tleuberdi on 01 of April 2021. The official ceremony took place in Moscow and gathered 14 foreign Ambassadors who are concurrently accredited to the Republic of Kazakhstan with the residence in Moscow.
In his speech, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan H.E. Mukhtar Tleuberdi congratulated the Ambassadors on their official inauguration and wished them success in the implementation of their diplomatic missions, expressing hope that with their experience, they would serve to develop and strengthen bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and their countries.
The official ceremony was followed by a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs and 52 Ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Kazakhstan. H.E. Tleuberdi addressed the audience, briefing new reforms of President H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev aimed at further democratization of the country, current programs of economic modernization and Kazakhstan's involvement in the international arena.
During the friendly conversation, Ambassador Prof. M.D. Lamawansa underlined the great potential for deepening relations to expand trade, economic, tourism, education, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The Sri Lankan diplomat conveyed friendly greetings of the leadership of the country. In turn, the Head of Kazakhstan MFA invited the Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka to visit Republic of Kazakhstan.
