On December 28, 2021, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, a veteran diplomat H.E. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat.

The Ambassadors spoke about the focus areas of their interaction with the host country including trade, economy, tourism and education.
As majority of the population in both Sri Lanka and Thailand practices Buddhism, Ambassadors touched upon the possibility to hold joint Buddhism-related events.
H.E. Prof. Janitha Liyanage was invited to make remarks in the book of Honoured Guests.
