On February 03, 2022 Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Belarus H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage presented her Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Belarus H.E. Alexander Lukashenko.


Ambassadors of 8 countries participated in the solemn ceremony.
As a tradition, President Lukashenko spoke about bilateral cooperation of the Republic of Belarus and the states represented by Ambassadors in presence.
Addressing Sri Lanka, the Head of the state noted 22 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the significant progress made in the development of political contacts, trade, and cooperation in the field of education. "Belarus has something to offer Sri Lanka to improve the efficiency of its agricultural sector: from special equipment to ready-made technological projects for harvesting and storing crops. Our relations are developing dynamically. We are ready to give this dynamics even greater scope," Alexander Lukashenko assured.
The ceremony was followed by an informal conversation between the President and the new Heads of Missions. At this conversation Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage conveyed the best regards of H E Gotabaya Rajapaksha, the President of Sri Lanka to the President of the Republic of Belarus.
