Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism signed Agreements about Cooperation in the Field of Sports Science and Memorandum of Understanding with three Sri Lankan Universities: University of Kelaniya, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine.

The official signing ceremony took place 21 June, 2022 at the premises of the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism with participation of Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation.
All three Universities joined the ceremony live, as Prof. Natalya Masyagina, Rector of the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism, was putting her signature on the documents. Prof. Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Prof. Sudantha Liyanage, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Prof. Ranjana V. Seneviratne, Vice Chancellor of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, addressed the gathering from Sri Lanka, assuring that signing the official documents opened new horizons for the sides to establish academic and educational cooperation in the spheres of sports science, tourism and hospitality management.
After the official part, Rector of the Moscow University gave an excursion around the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism to H. E. the Ambassador and showed the campus facilities, including classrooms, sports halls, hostels, etc. and introduced H. E. the Ambassador to foreign students, including ones from Sri Lanka, obtaining higher and postgraduate education in the University.
