The Russian State University for the Humanities was established in 1991 in accordance with a Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic as the successor to Moscow State History and Archives Institute.
It is one of the leading universities in Russia. In 2012, Russian State University for the Humanities celebrates the 100th anniversary of its main building, which belonged to Moscow Public University before the Russian Revolution of 1917. Developing academic and educational ties with foreign partners is one of the major trends of the Russian State University for the Humanities.
This university is willing to offer scholarships for Sri Lankan students beginning from the next year to study management, international relations, economics, psychology, journalism modern languages, archival studies.
