On June 25, 2022 Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage payed her 2nd visit to Kursk region.
In the framework of her visit, Ambassador Liyanage attended the International Korenskaya Fair, where Sri Lanka was represented by Ceylon Tea.
H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage took part with the welcome remarks at the ceremonial event held by the Governor of Kursk region H.E. Starovoit for Heads of Diplomatic Missions and high level officials.

Ambassador spoke of the importance of International Fair which gives opportunity to introduce products to a wider audience and link business of different regions and countries.
H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage held a meeting with Rector and Administration of Kursk State Medical University, where more than 300 SL students study medicine. To recollect, Kursk State Medical University Diplomas have got recognition by SLMC.
Ambassador Prof. Liyanage and Rector Prof. Lazarenko discussed areas to further expanding of mutually benificial cooperation, including dentistry, biotechnology, joint research and double degree programmes, etc.
The programme was completed by the Convocation Ceremony for 202 international students. These year 56 Sri Lankan graduates became doctors.
The graduates received congratulation messages from the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation H.E. Murashko and the Government of Kursk region.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka and Ambassador of Malaysia were invited as Honoured Guests to the Presidium of the Ceremony. H.E. Prof. Janitha Liyanage addressed the gathering and wished the new doctors every success in their responsible mission.
