The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow is pleased to announce that Azur Air, one of the leading private airlines in the Russian Federation, is scheduled to operate direct flights to Sri Lanka with effect from the 02nd November 2022.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow is honoured to have initiated and facilitated this initiative with a view to promoting Sri Lanka tourism in the Russian Federation by providing the Russian tourists with the convenience of direct flight experience to Sri Lanka.
At the outset, Azur Air will operate charter services from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk and Novosibirsk which are considered to be highly viable regions for Sri Lanka tourism promotion. The airline then wishes to venture into regular flight operations to Colombo having concluded necessary formalities.
Given that the Russian Federation is an important tourist traffic source to Sri Lanka, this Embassy is of the view that this initiative will substantially contribute to achieve Sri Lanka's tourism sector targets in the years to come while enhancing the foreign exchange position of the country at this trying time.
