At the request of the Vladimir State University, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia organized an introductory online meeting for its representatives with the University of Kelaniya and the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.
Prof. Aleksei Aleksandrovich Panfilov, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of the Vladimir State University, warmly greeted Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, who has recently visited the University.

Representatives of the three institutions made short presentations about the Universities, describing its facilities, programmes, interests and proposals. Snr. Prof. Neelakshi C. Premawardhena, Director, Centre for International Affairs of the University of Kelaniya, introduced a new interdisciplinary Bachelor Degree Programme including Tourism Studies, Management Studies and Foreign Languages, while Dr. Chinthaka Karalliyadda, Director, International Relations Unit of the Rajarata University, among other initiatives, expressed interest to establishment of a Russian language and culture center.
The Universities noted many similarities in their methods of teaching and attitudes to international cooperation and expressed willingness to continuation of collaboration and formalizing their relationship to implement student and academic exchange, joint programmes and research in the future.
