The Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Belarus and University of Vavuniya, Sri Lanka, signed a Memorandum of Understanding thus formalizing their cooperation on 20 December 2022.
Prof. T. Mangaleshwaran, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya, and Ms. Iryna Kiturka, Rector of the State University of Grodno, placed signatures on their copies of the Memorandums in the course of the online Signing Ceremony.
Congratulating the sides with reaching this milestone, Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation concurrently accredited to the Republic of Belarus, wished the Universities to get maximum benefit of this opportunity and noted that they became a part of long-lasting relationship between Sri Lanka and Belarus.
The Universities decided that following the signing of the document they would prepare a roadmap of cooperation, which would include student and staff exchange, training opportunities, participation in conferences, exchange of experience and especially joint research, as well as appoint a working group, which would oversee the progress of cooperation.
The Embassy wishes the two sides successful collaboration and reiterates its readiness to provide assistance at any stage.
