On December 20, 2022, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage took part in the reception on the occasion of the Presentation of the cultural and educational potential of Moscow at the invitation of the Moscow Government.

The gathering of diplomatic corps and high level officials was addressed by the Minister of Moscow Government and Head of the Department for Foreign economic and international relations H.E. Sergey Cheryomin, the Chairman of Moscow City Duma Mr. Alexey Shaposhnikov and the Scientific Director of the Moscow Planetarium Ms. Faina Rubleva with their welcoming speeches.
The event took place at the Moscow planetarium, the oldest Russia's and one of the world's largest planetariums. The guests were invited for a guided tour around the Planetarium exhibition and to watch the movie "Habitable Moon" demonstrated on the Europe's largest planetarium dome screen.
