The Sri Lankan delegation was also received by the Director of National Center of Marketing of the Republic of Belarus, Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Nikolai Borisevich. The two sides spoke about the ways for effective development of trade turnover of both countries.
In addition to that, H.E. the Ambassador Prof. Janitha Liyanage, Minister Counsellor Mr. Chamila Jayarathna and Hon. Consul of Sri Lanka Dr. Dmitri Ruzanov visited Belarus State Medical University. The guests were received by Prof. Sergey Rubnikovich, the Rector, Corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences. The meeting was also attended by Vice-Rector for International Relations, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vasili Roudenok. The two sides discussed a wide range of matters pertaining to the education and wellbeing of Sri Lankan students (currently there are 98 SL students at BSMU), and cooperation between Sri Lankan universities and BSMU, including the organization of academic exchange, summer schools, joint scientific and practical events.
The Embassy delegation visited Center for Examinations and Tests in Health Service, held discussions with "Belpharmprom" Pharmaceutical Holding Company, Belarus Textile Concern and "Belneftekhim" Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry seeking for new opportunities for collaboration. The sides agreed that there's great potential for expanding interaction between Sri Lanka and Belarus, diversifying the import/export list of products and services.
