On 13 March 2023, the Chuvash State Pedagogical University (ChSPU), Russia, visited the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the framework of their official visit to Sri Lanka.

The delegation of the ChSPU comprising Prof. V. N. Ivanov, Acting Rector, Senior lecturer I. V. Kozhanov, Vice Rector for Scientific and Innovative Work, Mr. A. A. Kirillov, Head of the Department of for Scientific and Innovative Work, was received by Senior Professor Chandana P. Udawatte, Vice Chairman of the UGC, and representatives of the Ministry of Education of Sri Lanka.
In the course of the discussion, the issues of cooperation between ChSPU and educational organizations of Sri Lanka were discussed, as well as the prospects of expanding the programs of academic mobility of students and teachers. Prof. V. N. Ivanov, the head of ChSPU also suggested exploring options for cooperation between business partners of the Sri Lanka and Russia and considering the possibilities of the Pedagogical University in training personnel for the Sri Lankan economy.
The visit of the ChSPU was organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow together with the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka, Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, University of Vavuniya and South Eastern University of Sri Lanka.
