On 17 March 2023, a delegation of the Chuvash State Pedagogical University (ChSPU), Russia, visited the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka to discuss the prospects for cooperation in conducting joint scientific research, academic mobility of teachers and students studying English and Russian.

The delegation comprising of Prof. V. N. Ivanov, Acting Rector of ChSPU, Senior lecturer I. V. Kozhanov, Vice Rector for Scientific and Innovative Work, and Mr. A. A. Kirillov, Head of the Department of for Scientific and Innovative Work, got acquainted with the activities of 5 faculties of the Southeast University of Sri Lanka: Arts & Culture, Management & Commerce, Applied Sciences, Islamic Studies & Arabic Language, Engineering Technology.
Prof. A. Rameez, Vice-Chancellor of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka, Mr. M.S.A. Riyad Rooly, Director of the Office of International Affairs, and other staff members of the University organized a heartwarming reception for the representatives of the Russian University. The delegation met with professors and students and discussed issues of cooperation in the implementation of joint educational programs, organizing joint research and development, developing the potential of employees and students, exchanging students and teaching staff, organizing and holding joint conferences and seminars.
Both Universities stated that the visit was a remarkable milestone for their cooperation and expressed willingness to continue the relationship and work towards reaching new achievements.
The visit of the ChSPU was organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow together with the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka, Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, University of Vavuniya and South Eastern University of Sri Lanka.
