A five-member delegation led by Mr. Ilyas Mahomed-Salomovich Umakhanov, Vice Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation visited Sri Lanka from 30 November to 2 December 2015.
The delegation from the Federation Council (Upper Chamber) of the Federal Assembly visited Sri Lanka on the invitation of the Speaker of Parliament Karu Jayasuriya.
During the visit, the delegation held meetings with Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala and also called on Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera on 1st December 2015.
The delegation also held discussions with the Sri Lanka – Russia Parliamentary Friendship Association.
