On 22 June 2023, the Embassy participated in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Kursk State Agricultural University (KSAU), Russia, and the Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management of the Wayamba University.

The sides, which have already participated in joint events, such as conferences and symposiums, are expecting that the Memorandum would be instrumental to organize joint scientific events, round tables, scientific knowledge exchange, teaching material development, joint participation in grants competitions, etc.
Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia noted that signing of the MoU was a memorable moment for both sides and wished the two Universities to streamline successful and long-standing cooperation.
Senior Professor Udith Jayasinghe-Mudalige, Vice Chancellor of the Wayamba University, and Mr. Alexander Musyal, Rector of the KSAU, appreciated the efforts of the Embassy to bring the two institutions together and assured that they would take the necessary actions to establish cooperation in various areas and exchange experience for the betterment of Sri Lanka and Russia.
