24 – 28 July 2023 the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia facilitated to organization of a visit of Assoc. Prof. Roman Krasnov, Vice Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy of the Ural State University of Economics (USUE), to Sri Lanka to discuss matters of cooperation with the partner Universities.

In the framework of his stay, Assoc. Prof. Krasnov paid a visit to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (SJP) and held a meeting with Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and other senior staff of the University. The sides discussed cooperation and interaction, agreed to continue working within the student exchange programs and scientific cooperation. They are also planning to develop cooperation in the field of Russian language training on the platform of the SJP.

Assoc. Prof. Krasnov also met with the Vice Chancellor of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine (GWUIM), Prof. Ranjana W. Senevirante, accompanied by Dr. Asanka Pallewatta, Director of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi International Center, and other senior staff of the University. In April this year, the two Universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding and the visit contributed to expansion of cooperation and academic exchange between the partner Universities. Such matters as sending GWUIM teachers for advanced training to USUE, as well as student exchange were discussed in the course of the meeting.
