On July 9, 2023, the INNOPROM International Industrial Trade Fair 2023 started its 4-day run in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Minister of Industry and Plantation Industries of Sri Lanka Hon. Ramesh Pathirana and Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage attended the Forum.

Launched in 2010 INNOPROM has become a Global platform for the demonstration of advanced technologies. This year the Forum brought together official and business delegations from about 40 countries. The main theme of INNOPROM 2023 was "Sustainable Production: Strategies for Renewal".
The Minister Hon. Ramesh Pathirana was one of the key speakers at the main Strategic Panel headed by Prime Minister of Russia H.E. Mr. Mishustin, with the participation of Prime Ministers of Belarus and Kazakstan, and 11 profile Ministers from foreign countries.

Hon. Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana and H.E. the Ambassador Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage held a bilateral meeting with the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade H.E. Denis Manturov on possible areas for strengthening cooperation between Sri Lanka and Russia and other matters of mutual interest.
In the framework of the visit to the capital of Urals, the Sri Lankan delegation held discussions with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan H.E. Oleg Korobchenko on possibilities to increase the foreign trade turnover, met KAMAZ manufacturer, attended the meeting with the Government of Sverdlovsk region, visited the Russian State Professional and Pedagogical University with its Technopark of Universal Pedagogical Competences, and had a tour around the exhibition booths of other countries.
