For the second consecutive year, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation organized a visit of students of the Moscow Metropolitan Governance Yury Luzhkov University to the Embassy residence on 22 September 2023.

More than 20 second and third year students of the University International Relations Programmes visited the Embassy to familiarize with functioning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and a foreign Mission.
Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation warmly welcomed the students and the staff of the International Department of the University and told the audience about the history of Sri Lanka – Russia relations, its main directions and the prospective collaborations which are envisaged in the future.
Subsequently, the diplomatic officers of the Embassy: Ms. Ruvini Munidasa, Head of Chancery, Mr. Chamila Jayarathna, Minister, Gp. Capt. Sanoj Jayrathne, Counsellor for Defence, as well as the local staff: Ms. Anna Makarovskaya, assistant for trade and tourism, and Ms. Julia Beliaeva, assistant for education and culture – told the students about the functioning of the respective sections of the Embassy.
After the end of presentations, the students had an opportunity to ask H. E. the Ambassador and the diplomatic officers questions about Sri Lanka, its international cooperation and work of the Mission in Russia, as well as to taste the original Ceylon tea.
