On September 27-29, 2023, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, took part at the IV International HR-Summit at the invitation of the Government of Nizhniy Novgorod. The Head of the Mission was accompanied by the Minister of the Embassy Mr. Chamila Jayarathna and General Manager of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency Mr. Mangala Randeniya.

The HR Summit gathered more than 800 experts from 50 regions of Russia and four countries, including Sri Lanka, Germany, Uzbekistan and Belarus. The experts will discuss global trends and challenges of the labor market, problems of migration and demand for specialists of different qualifications, attraction and retention of highly qualified personnel in the region.
H.E. the Ambassador Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage addressed the audience with welcome remarks at the opening ceremony and was one of the key speakers at the panel discussion focusing on Human Capital.
The Ambassador emphasised that the Summit was held timely and dedicated to the key factor of economic growth of any country - human capital, which contributes to the development of the economy by expanding the knowledge and skills of citizens. H.E. Speaking about the migrant workers, Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage underlined the complex problem as the protection of migrant workers and their adaptation.
Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency and Regional Recruitment Agency signed an agreement on exchange of experience in the field of personnel management. The signing took place during the panel discussion "Personnel needs in the industrial sector: how to attract and keep personnel".
The document was signed by Ms. Lilia Baturskaya, General Director of the Regional HR Agency, and Mr. Mangala Randeniya, General Manager of Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency, in the presence of H.E. the Ambassador Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, Minister of International and Interregional Relations of Nizhny Novgorod Region Ms. Olga Guseva, and Minister of Personnel Policy of Nizhny Novgorod Region Ms. Ekaterina Lebedeva.
