On November 14, 2023, the Transport week, an annual industry event started its 3-day run in Gostiny Dvor, Moscow. The Forum included conferences devoted to the development and functioning of automobile, aviation, railway, sea and river transport. The exhibition, in its turn, clearly demonstrated novelties and achievements of the industry enterprises.
H.E. the Ambassador Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage attended the XVII International Forum and Exhibition called Transport of Russia and took part in the International Plenary Session on Improving resilience and security of Global Transport Relations raising the burning issues of sustainability and security of global transport routes.
Hon. Minister of Transport and Highways of Sri Lanka Dr. Bandula Gunawardena graced the main Transport industry event with the welcome remarks. Hon. Bandula Gunawardena spoke about the pressing issues common for all countries globally on increasing need for sustainable transportation solutions and advancement of technologies in the face of growing urbanization and environmental concerns, as cities expand and vehicle usage escalate, the issues of traffic congestion, air pollution, and resource depletion become burning.
The International Discussion was attended by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and high-level officials from the Ministries of Economic Development and Agriculture of Russia, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Mali and Minister of transport of Cuba.
