On February 26, 2024, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage arrived in Ulan-Ude, Buryatia.
In the framework of the first day of her visit, H.E. the Ambassador Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage met with the Head of the Republic H.E. Alexey Tsydenov, Minister of Tourism Aldar Dorzhiev, Rector of the Buddhist University Geshe Dymbryl Dashibaldanov, Rector of the Buryat State University Aldar Damdinov, as well as visited the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant.
Ambassador Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage and the Head of Buryatia Mr. Tsydenov discussed cooperation in the field of education, including joint research, academic mobility, exchange trips of monks, organization of the Russian-Lankan Buddhist Association and integration of western and traditional medicine. The interlocutors also spoke about expanding interaction in the sphere of tourism and trade.
Completing the business programme Mrs. Ambassador Janitha Liyanage visited Baikal Lake, got acquainted with its main sights during winter period and had a cup of Ceylon tea made with pure Baikal water.
