On February 9, 2024, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage attended a series of events dedicated to the 89th Anniversary of Kursk State Medical University, where now about 150 students from Sri Lanka get there higher education.

To mark the 89th University anniversary, the ceremonial opening of the University Clinic took place, which was attended by Ambassador Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, Rector of KSMU Professor V.A. Lazarenko, Assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Vitaly Fleck, Minister of Health of Kursk region Ekaterina Pismennaya, Hon. Consul of Sri Lanka in Kursk Dr. Mokhamad Chahine, representatives of the teaching staff and students.
H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage also took part at the Academic Council with her welcome remarks and addressed the international audience at the Scientific Conference.
