On 22 May 2024, Сhargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation Ruvini Munidasa visited the Residence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow to express the heartfelt condolences to the people of Iran and laid flowers to pay tribute to the late President of Iran Dr. Ebrahim Raisi, late Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Amir Abdollahian and other officials who died in the helicopter crash on 19 May 2024.

On behalf of the Embassy of Sri Lanka, the Сhargé d'Affaires a.i. signed the book of condolence opened at the Residence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow.
