Dr. Seetha Arambepola, Hon. State Minister of Health of Sri Lanka paid a visit to the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) on 30 May 2024. RUDN University is one of the largest Russian Universities in Russia, where over 1 000 Sri Lankan students have graduated in a wide range of majors within more than 60 years of strong relationship with Sri Lanka.

The Hon. State Minister of Health was warmly welcomed by Dr. Oleg Yastrebov, Rector of RUDN and his staff. In the course of a keen discussion, the sides covered the matters of increasing the number of PhD students, establishment of academic mobility programmes, joint use of laboratory facilities, re-recognition in the Sri Lanka Medical Council, etc.
The parties decided to organize an online conference between the scientists and other stakeholders to discuss the particular directions of cooperation.
