International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women get felicitations for their achievements without regard to national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political divisions.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation hosts an international women's day reception for staff members. Ambassador Dr. Saman Weerasinghe wishes all women staff members for International Women's Day 2016 and hand over flowers and gifts.
