Ambassador P. M. Amza visited Saint Petersburg State University (SPSU) on 17 June 2024 and had a productive discussion with Dr. Nikolai Kropachev, Rector and Mr. Sergey Andryushin, Vice Rector for International Affairs of the University.

The Saint Petersburg State University is a prestigious classical University, which celebrates its 300 years anniversary this year. For the last 6 years, SPSU has been recognized as the most popular University in Russia among foreign students.
The discussion centered on affiliation with the University of Peradeniya, the Rajarata University, the University of Ruhuna and the University of Kelaniya, collaboration with the Ministry of Education, as well as other Sri Lankan Ministries, and introduction of Sinhala language teaching into the SPSU curriculum.
