On July 8, 2024 Ambassador P.M. Amza arrived to the city of Yekaterinburg to participate in the INNOPROM International Industrial Exhibition and Forum.
The biggest industrial exhibition of Russia has started its 4-day run in the Urals' capital and gathered 33 foreign delegations and international organizations.

On the margins of the Forum, Ambassador P.M. Amza had a productive meeting with the Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Mr. Vasily Kozlov and discussed matters pertaining to trade, economic and people-to-people cooperation. Hony. Consul of Sri Lanka in Yekaterinburg Mr. Vladimir Smirnov and Director of the Department for Tourism and Hospitality Industry Development of the Sverdlovsk Region Ms. Elmira Tukanova were also present at the meeting.
Deputy Governor Mr. Vasily Kozlov recollected his official visit to Sri Lanka in early 2023 and noted that the Sverdlovsk Region is ready to enhance cooperation with Sri Lanka in the areas of trade, tourism, science and higher education.
Ambassador Amza highlighted expansion of economic collaboration such as diversification of exports, attraction of investment in hospitality sector in Sri Lanka, foreign employment opportunities for migrant workers, establishment of business links and resumption of direct flights from Ekaterinburg to Sri Lanka. The Head of Sri Lankan Mission P.M. Amza assured his interlocutor of the necessary support be provided by the Sri Lankan side.

The meeting was followed by a Gala reception on behalf of the Governor in which Ambassador Amza participated.
