On July 09, 2024, Ambassador P.M. Amza visited Ural State University of Economics. The Head of Sri Lankan Mission was received by Rector of the University Prof. Yakov Silin. The Vice Rectors for Science, Academic and International Affairs were also present at the meeting.

The Ambassador and the Rector decided to enhance cooperation with regard to academic exchange, joint research projects and scientific publications, participation in the conferences, opening of Russian language center in Sri Lanka.
Knowing the background and vast experience of Ambassador P.M. Amza, Rector Prof Yakov Silin invited the Head of Sri Lankan Mission to deliver a lecture on Sri Lanka -Russia bilateral relations for the University students next September.
