Ambassador P. M. Amza, accompanied by officials of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow, visited the alma mater of Russian Foreign Minister S. Lavrov, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) on 31 July 2024.
The University offers 112 degree programs in 17 areas of study and its focus are international relations, foreign area studies, political science, law, economics, journalism, business etc. It holds a Guinness World Record for teaching most state foreign languages (53 languages).
In the course of a lively discussion with the Rector of the University, A. Torkunov, Ambassador Amza discussed cooperation in academic and educational spheres with Sri Lankan Universities and in particular teaching Russian as a foreign language and regional studies.
