On July 31, 2024 Ambassador P.M. Amza, Head of Sri Lankan Mission in Moscow visited the biggest thinktank in Russia – the National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) named after Ye.M. Primakov, the outstanding Russian former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.

The guests were received by Prof. Feodor Voitolovsky, Director of the IMEMO. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Ruvini K. Munidasa, Head of Chancery from the Embassy side and Dr. Alexey Kupriyanov, Head of Indian Ocean Region Center, IMEMO.
Ambassador P.M. Amza and Prof. Feodor Voitolovsky had a substantial discussion focused on political and economic developments at the global and regional levels.
During the meeting, Prof. Voitolovsky introduced the main activities of IMEMO. The Director invited Ambassador P.M. Amza and experts from Sri Lanka to take part in the International Forums and scientific events annually conducted by the Institute.
Ambassador P.M. Amza emphasized the importance of thinktanks functions including Track II efficiency and proposed to establish cooperative links between the research institutes of Sri Lanka and IMEMO.
