08 September 2024, Ambassador P. M. Amza, Head of Sri Lankan Mission in Russia, hosted a dinner for Sri Lankan teachers of Russian language, who undertook an advanced training course in the Chuvash State Pedagogical University in Cheboksary, Russia.
The course, which was held for 3 weeks, gave an opportunity to Sri Lankan university and school-level teachers to update their teaching skills, learn about new methods and technologies of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The project was held under the state assignment of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
The teachers also got an opportunity to visit several state schools, learn more about Russian culture and do sightseeing in Cheboksary and Moscow. Upon graduation from the course, they underwent an official attestation and received certificates of additional training.
The project became another milestone in the developing collaboration between Sri Lanka and the Chuvash State Pedagogical University named after I. Y. Yakovlev.
