On November 06, 2024, the Head of the Sri Lankan Mission to the Russian Federation Ambassador P.M. Amza paid his first visit to the prestigious Grodno State Medical University of the Republic of Belarus, where more than 800 Sri Lankan students currently receive their degree in General Medicine.
During the visit, Ambassador P.M. Amza got acquainted with the facilities and activities of the university, including state-of-the-art simulation and accreditation center, innovative technologies in education along with rich University traditions.
Ambassador P.M. Amza discussed with the management of Grodno State Medical University the matters of further cooperation and development of relations. The Head of Mission thanked the University leadership for the efforts taken to ensure security and wellbeing of all students including Sri Lankan.
The Administration of the University introduced the presentation of the University and assured of the high standard medical education for practical healthcare.
Both sides agreed that collaboration in the Medical education sector would contribute to the strengthening of relations between Sri Lanka and Belarus.
Vice-Rector for International Relations Mr. Vitaly Vorobyev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Students Ms. Lyudmila Gushchina and Head of the International Affairs Department Ms. Oksana Mazalevich also took part in the discussion.
At the end of the visit, Ambassador Pakeer Mohideen Amza spoke with the Sri Lankan students and answered their questions.
