On 03 December 2024 at the invitation of the Sri Lankan student community of the Peoples' Friendship University (RUDN) Ambassador P. M. Amza, Head of Sri Lankan Mission in Russia, joined by Mr. Chamila Jayarathna, Minister (Education and Trade) participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Asian Week, which takes place in the University annually.

H. E. the Ambassador addressed the Administration of the University, the representatives of the Diplomatic Corps and the students and mentioned the special link, which binds Russia and the Asian region for many centuries. Ambassador Amza also expressed his gratitude to the Sri Lankan and other foreign students who proudly represent their cultures and traditions in the RUDN University.
After watching a colourful concert organized by the students, H. E. the Ambassador examined the Sri Lankan and other stalls, which introduce the visitors of the exhibition to the respective countries.
