Calling for views and suggestions from the Sri Lankan citizens in abroad, civil society organizations, Sri Lankan missions and embassies in order to formulate a mechanism to grant voting rights to Sri Lankans citizens in abroad

- A Committee has been appointed with the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers to make recommendations for establishing a formal mechanism to enable Sri Lankan citizens living abroad to exercise their voting rights.

- In order to develop a more democratic, transparent, and efficient system, the Committee has decided to seek written views and suggestions from relevant stakeholders, including Sri Lankan Missions /Embassies abroad, civil society organizations, and Sri Lankan citizens residing overseas.

Accordingly;

The committee requests that your view and suggestions be forwarded to the address/email address below before 15.02.2026, with special attention to the following areas.

• Voter registration
• A Election Campaigning and Advertising
• Voting procedures
• Counting of votes and declaration of results
