On January 26, 2017 the delegation from the National Institute of Labour Studies under the Ministry of Labour and Trade Union Relations of Sri Lanka visited the Academy of Labour and Social Relations of the Russian Federation to sign the Memorandum of Understanding.
Mr. Saman D. Waduge, Director General, National Institute of Labour Studies of Sri Lanka and Ms. Nina Kuzmina, Rector of the Academy of Labour and Social Relations of Russia signed the MoU on behalf of the two countries. According to the MoU, both institutions will now be able to implement various activities in the framework of cooperation in scientific and educational fields.
At the official ceremony the Sri Lankan side was represented by three delegates from the Ministry of Labour and Trade Union Relations of Sri Lanka, H. E. Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, Gr Cp Channa Dissanayake, Counsellor (Defence), and Mr. Dulmith Waruna, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia. Besides Mrs. Nina N. Kuzmina, Rector of the Academy of Labour and Social Relations, Dr. Evgeniy T. Osetrov, Deputy Director of the International Programs Center, Dr. Nikolay N. Gritsenko, Prorector, and other officials of the Academy were present at the signing ceremony.
The Academy of Labour and Social Relations (ATISO) was founded in 1919 and today it is a top-ranking academic, research and methodological institution which focuses on economic, social and labor issues, as well as social management, finance, legal regulation, labor, industrial safety, and ecology.
