Hon. Navin Dissanayake, Minister of Plantation Industries of Sri Lanka, met with Mr. Vladimir Ivanovich Padalko, the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation During his visit to Moscow, on February 7, 2017.
The Sri Lankan side was represented by H. E. Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, Mr. Rohan Pethiyagoda, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tea Board, Ms. Malkanthi Welikala, Assistant Director of Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Ms. Chandima Kiriwandala, First Secretary (Commercial), and Mr. Upul Priyantha, Head of the Tea Promotion Unit of the Embassy.
During the meeting, among other questions, both Parties discussed new ways of cooperation in the tea industry and strengthening of business connections for Sri Lankan tea exporters with Russian counterparts.
Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation took the opportunity to congratulate the Sri Lankan delegation on 150 years of Ceylon tea.
