March 23, 2017 began with the Wreath Laying Ceremony for the Tomb of Unkown Soldier which took place at the Alexander Garden and was attended by H. E. the President of Sri Lanka, First Lady of Sri Lanka, Honorable Ministers, H. E. the Ambassadors of both countries and other Sri Lankan and Russian officials.

 The Military Commandant of Moscow received the President at the magnificent War Memorial and H. E. the President inspected the Guard of Honour after placing the wreath. The Russian Military Band played the national anthems of two countries, while H. E. the President and the delegation stood at attention.
