The last day of the official visit of H. E. the President of Sri Lanka to Russia started with the meeting with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Hon. Dmitry Medvedev.

 At the beginning of the meeting Hon. Prime Minister congratulated H. E. the President of Sri Lanka on his first official visit to Russia and appreciated the cordial relationship that Sri Lanka and Russia have had for the last several decades. He assured that the future relations among the two countries will be further strengthened and expanded into new areas of cooperation as a result of this visit.
H. E. Maithripala Sirisena, the President of Sri Lanka, was accompanied by Honorable Ministers and H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia during the official meeting, whereas Hon. Dmitry Medvedev, the Prime Minister of Russia, was joined by the Co-chair of the Sri Lanka - Russia Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation and science and technical cooperation Hon. Ilya Shestakov, H. E. Ambassador of Russia to Sri Lanka, and other senior officials from the Russian federal authorities.
