On April 28, 2017 the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia organized a reception for representatives of the Sri Lankan community living in Moscow to wish for the Sinhala Hindu new year, to express its gratitude for the support and assistance extended to the Embassy during the official visit of H. E. the President of Sri Lanka to Russia held on March 22-24, 2017 and bid farewell for Mr. Sinnaiah Vasagampulle, who had worked at the Embassy of Sri Lanka for more than 3 years as the Accounts Officer.

 H. E. Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, presented a brief report on the visit and pointed out that thanks to mutual efforts of the Embassy and the local Sri Lankan community it became a great success and that the Mission still received many positive feedbacks from the Russian and Sri Lankan Government officials.
Addressing the gathering, H.E. the Ambassador appreciated the service rendered by Mr. Vasagampulle during his tenure. Both the Mission and the Sri Lankan community expressed their gratitude for the excellent work of Mr. Vasagampulle and wished him all the best in his future endeavors.
