On July 27, 2017, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow held the second seminar of the information seminars series with the support of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), in cooperation with ANEX TOUR.

ANEX TOUR is one of five leading tour operators in Russia with worldwide destinations coverage and one of the two operators in Russia to have a program of direct charter flights to Sri Lanka currently in place for winter travel season.
The seminar gathered 51 Russian travel agents working under ANEX TOUR, including those from Moscow and Moscow region; notably, some of travel agents came from more distant cities of Russia, such as Smolensk and Arkhangelsk.
ANEX TOUR was represented by Ms. Anna Tkachenko, Chief Destination Manager (Sri Lanka), Ms. Ekaterina Boyko, Sr. Marketing Manager, as well as three PR and marketing department representatives and gave presentations on tourism in Sri Lanka and the potential for its promotion in Russia.
The Embassy of Sr Lanka in Russia was represented by Ms. Chandima Kiriwandala, First Secretary (Commercial), who greeted the audience and highlighted the support of SLTPB and performed with a presentation on tourism statistics in Sri Lanka as well as other important figures related to the tourism sector. Ms. Kiriwandala highlighted the participation of Sri Lankan delegation in one of Moscow's largest international tourism exhibitions, LEISURE/OTDYKH 2017 (September 19-21, 2017) where about 10 Destination Management Companies and hoteliers are expected, under the auspices of SLTPB.
It was noted by many invitees that the seminar helped them to learn more about Sri Lanka and explore other opportunities to promote the island as a top tourism destination for the Russian audience.
