On December 18, H.E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation and Madame Sanja Jayatilleka paid a courtesy call on His Grace Celestino Migliore, Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church who was appointed by Pope Francis as the Apostolic Nuncio to Russia. Celestino Migliore is a Titular Archbishop of Canosa and has spent most of his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See in the UN (New York) USA, Egypt, France and Poland.

Ambassador Jayatilleka and Madame Jayatilleka were luncheon guests at the Apostolic Nunciature (the diplomatic mission of the Holy See).
The wide ranging discussion included current global trends and potential threats to peace, issues of universalism and national cultures and comparative global responses to truth and reconciliation,liberation theology and its limitsin addition to the contribution of successive Popes in the past half-century to the Church and theology.
