On March 7, 2019 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka and Madame Sanja Jayatilleka met Fyodor Lukyanov, Editor-in-Chief of the 'Russia in Global Affairs', a respected quarterly journal.
Fyodor Lukyanov is the Chairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, Research Director of the Valdai Discussion Club Foundation, and Member of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC).

As the author of a number of publications on the current international relations issues and Russian Foreign Policy, Fyodor Lukyanov was awarded by the Government of the Russian Federation for his contribution to the international journalism.
Ambassador Jayatilleka and Fyodor Lukyanov had an extensive discussion about the global political situation and the Indo-Pacific region in particular.
