On 16 April 2019 the National Research Moscow State Construction University (NIU MGSU) hosted the "Day of Nationalities at NIU MGSU", attracting hundreds of its students, including those of Sri Lanka, at the University premises.

Students from more than twenty countries, who are studying at NIU MGSU, showcased indigenous products that constitute the cultural values and display the scenic beauty of their home countries. Demonstration of various peoples' national cuisines also took place during the event.

Displayed at the Sri Lankan students' booth were the cultural and artistic symbols, representing the people and the cultural legacy of Sri Lanka.

Officials of the Embassy of Sri Lanka, along with representatives of other Diplomatic Missions in Moscow, participated in the Day of Nationalities at the invitation of the NIU MGSU.

Professor Andrey Volkov, the Acting Rector of the NIU MGSU, inaugurated the event with his welcome address to the participants.

After the exhibition opening, a concert was held where the Russian and foreign students of NIU MGSU presented their traditional and modern dancing, and singing performances.
