On April 21, 2019 a group of young Russians gathered in front of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow to pay tribute to those killed in several explosions that happened in Sri Lanka, claiming lives of over 200 people.
The visitors laid out a phrase "WE ARE WITH YOU" to show their support and empathy to the Sri Lankan community.

 H. E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, and Madame Sanja Jayatilleka also joined the visitors and thanked them in person for such a kind and thoughtful gesture, pointing out that this was another occasion that showed the friendship and solidarity that exists between Sri Lankan and Russian nations.

In a touching gesture, the young students told H. E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka and Mrs. Sanja Jayatilleka to be strong and that they are praying for them and the people of Sri Lanka.
