On November 29, 2019 a series of Ceylon tea sampling sessions was launched in the Lenta Hypermarket Chain in St. Petersburg, Russia. Tea Promotion Unit of the Sri Lankan Embassy in the Russian Federation in collaboration with Lenta Hypermarket Chain, one of the largest Russian hypermarket chains, rolled out the sampling session program with the objectives of promoting Ceylon Tea brands, which carry the Lion Logo – the symbol of genuine Ceylon Tea – and are available in the shelf of the Lenta hypermarket chain. Accordingly, during the series of the sampling session, Ceylon Tea brands, such as Basilur, Dilmah and Hyleys are being promoted.
Apart from the general promotion of the Ceylon tea, the sampling session program will enhance awareness of the Lion Logo and its importance for end tea consumers.
The sampling session's programs will be running for one month, covering both St. Petersburg and Moscow, holding 28 three-day sessions in various Lenta hypermarkets.
